I especially like #8...
1. Maintain our safety at all times in an unknown environment.
2. To create partnerships with individuals, families, groups, and communities to promote their health.
3. To assess, plan, intervene, and evaluate clients in their native setting.
4. To learn multiple approaches of caring for clients in a diverse setting.
5. To work with multidisciplinary teams to conduct assessments, develop strategies within the community and its population, and facilitate the empowerment of community residents.
6. To facilitate community residents' ability to increase their awareness of their own health situations, and to become empowered to determine what they want for themselves, their families, and their community.
7. To take into consideration the people, the community, and the pattern of the interrelationships between them.
8. To realize that the greatest care I may give to an individual is the therapeutic use of my nursing self.
9. To take full advantage of this expanded opportunity to practice nursing.
10. To disseminate information garnered from this experience back to nursing, in the form of informational discussions, formal papers, or presentations.
